Three words for the darkest moment in the story. 🥖 Today is “Spy Wednesday.” In John 13, Jesus reveals there is a betrayer at the table. The empire handles traitors with violence. But Jesus shares the bread with Judas. He responds to betrayal with profound intimacy. Judas leaves to sell him to the empire, and John writes: “It was night.” We can’t skip past the dark to get to the light. Even with a knife at his back, God is handing out bread.
