The table keeps descending. 🐟 In Exodus 24, Moses and the elders eat a majestic meal with God on a pavement of sapphire. But in John 21, Peter has failed spectacularly and gone back to fishing. Jesus doesn't make him climb a mountain to apologize. He builds a charcoal fire—the exact scene of Peter's failure—and cooks him breakfast. From sapphire to charcoal. From seventy elders to seven exhausted fishermen. Same host. Same welcome. Different fire. Come and eat today.
