Daily Devotional for May 4, 2026

May the Fourth be with you! 🗺️ Today we look at a scrappy rebellion fleeing an Empire in Exodus 13. God intentionally avoids the shortcut, taking the Israelites the "roundabout way." The Egyptian empire conditioned them for trauma, so the wilderness wasn't a punishment; it was a detox. As Yoda says, "You must unlearn what you have learned." If your shortcut is blocked today, the Good Shepherd might be protecting you. Trust the long way around.
