Daily Devotional for May 23, 2026

Let's talk about the new mountain. ⛰️ In Exodus 20, God gives the law from a distance. "Thou shalt not." Boundaries drawn from the outside. But in Matthew 5, Jesus sits on a new mountain with no barricades and says, "Blessed are." He blesses the meek and the peacemakers—traits the Roman empire saw as a liability. The empire governs by drawing lines; the Kingdom governs by drawing you close and telling you who you are.
