Let's talk about the punchline. 😂 All week we've watched Abraham and Sarah try to navigate God's timeline. In Genesis 21, the promise finally arrives: Sarah gives birth at ninety years old. She laughs, saying, "God has brought laughter for me." It's easy to forget she laughed back in Genesis 18, too—but that laugh was skeptical and bitter. Now, it's the exact same sound coming from a completely different place. The empire is brutally serious, demanding that you manufacture your own results and secure your own legacy. But God's grace is gloriously absurd, bringing a joy we could never engineer. In Hebrews 3, the author reminds us that the empire tells you to build your own house. But the Kingdom says you don't have to build the house—you are the house. You don't have to engineer the promise today. Let God bring the laughter.
