But the Kingdom demands an honest memory to break the cycle. In Luke 6, Jesus comes down the mountain to choose the Twelve—un-credentialed fishermen, tax collectors, and zealots—to carry this un-sanitized truth forward. If you forget who you are, you'll accept whatever story the empire tells you. The antidote to amnesia isn't a better memory; it's a community that keeps telling the whole story.
