Let's talk about losing the plot. 🧭 In Micah 7, the prophet describes a society hollowed out from the inside, where the empire's corruption has completely eroded trust. It creates an atmosphere of constant, low-grade anxiety. In Revelation 2, the church in Ephesus gets a glowing review for enduring, but receives a gut punch: they have abandoned their first love. The empire doesn't usually destroy us with one big blow; it wears us down until we are so focused on surviving and defending that we forget what we were defending in the first place. You can win every theological argument and still neglect your neighbor. You can be exhausted from fighting the right fights and wake up realizing the fight became the whole thing. The empire wants you so defensive that you forget how to love. Don't forget why you started today. ❤️✨
