Let's talk about invisible contamination. 🍞 In Jeremiah 25, the people are facing seventy years of exile in Babylon. Empires always look permanent from the inside, but Jeremiah reminds us that even the ultimate superpower has an expiration date. Every empire eventually collapses under the weight of its own greed. But until it falls, the empire is incredibly sneaky. In Galatians 5, Paul warns the church that "a little yeast leavens the whole batch." The empire doesn't always use armies to destroy us; sometimes it just subtly mixes its transactional values into the Kingdom's dough, asking for just a little compromise and a little assimilation. You cannot mix the empire's anxiety with the Kingdom's liberation! You can't hold onto the freedom of Christ if you are still baking with the empire's ingredients. What invisible contamination do you need to scrub out today? ✨
