2026-07-06: Let's talk about the empire's heavy hardware. 🪵 Yesterday, Jesus offered an easy yoke. Today, Jeremiah 27 hands us the exact opposite. God tells the prophet to strap a literal wooden yoke around his neck—a stark visual sermon about the coming Babylonian empire. Jeremiah isn't celebrating the empire; he's delivering a brutal reality check. False prophets were offering denial dressed up as hope, but pretending the empire isn't heavy doesn't make the yoke lighter. In Romans 1, Paul names the deeper mechanism: exchanging the truth about God for a manufactured lie. Empire always tries to replace the Creator, demanding worship while giving us something heavy and extractive in return. Name the yoke today. ✨
