2026-07-12: Let's talk about red soup and thorny ground. 🍲 In Genesis 25, an exhausted Esau trades his birthright—his identity, legacy, and covenant inheritance—for a single bowl of stew. He lets manufactured urgency dictate a permanent decision. The empire operates the same way, keeping us anxious so we'll trade our deepest values for a quick fix. In Matthew 13, Jesus warns us about this in the Parable of the Sower. Esau is the thorny and rocky soil, letting immediate appetites and "cares of the world" choke out a seed of incalculable value before it takes root. The seed is good. The question is always what kind of soil we're offering it. Don't trade your birthright for soup today. ✨
