2026-07-21: Let's talk about unexpected reconciliation. 🫂 In Genesis 33, Jacob finally faces his brother Esau. Expecting a warlord, Jacob bows seven times, playing by the empire's rules of leverage and submission. But Esau ruins the script. Instead of attacking or negotiating, he runs to meet his brother and embraces him. When Jacob tries to offer his massive bribe, Esau completely short-circuits the empire's transactional mechanics: "I have enough, my brother." The empire never has enough and always keeps score. But Esau drops the leverage completely, meeting Jacob's calculation with reckless grace. Jacob realizes that encountering a grace he couldn't buy is like seeing the face of God. You can't buy your way into the Kingdom; you can only receive it. ✨
